About the applicant
The project is led by Edinburgh resident and avid tennis player, Amy Lansdown, whose ambition is to create a tennis and padel facility that is accessible to all, promoting physical activity alongside social connection and wellbeing. The centre is intended to operate on a not-for-profit basis, with surplus income reinvested into community outreach, youth engagement initiatives and participation programmes.
A new company has been set up to progress the project. The proposals will therefore be taken forward under the applicant name, Amy Lansdown and Artemis Sport Ltd.

The vision
We aim to build a first class, accessible and affordable tennis and padel facility that welcomes everyone – from complete beginner to committed players – and used the power of sport to strengthen community wellbeing.
This is not about creating a sports facility, it is about developing a vibrant community hub that inspires people of all ages and abilities to get active, try something new and feel part of something bigger.
By combining inclusive design, high quality coaching and a commitment to re-invest, the Centre will widen access to sport, nurture local talent and bring national and international events to Midlothian, delivering economic benefits for years to come.
